【摘要】:1.1Thisspecificationcoverspoly(vinylchloride)(PVC)pipemadeinstandardthermoplasticpipedimensionratiosandpressureratedforwater(seeappendix).IncludedarecriteriaforclassifyingPVCplasticpipematerialsandPVCplasticpipe,asystemofnomenclatureforPVCplasticpipe,andrequirementsandtestmethodsformaterials,workmanship,dimensions,sustainedpressure,burstpressure,flattening,andextrusionquality.Methodsofmarkingarealsogiven.1.2Theproductscoveredbythisspecificationareintendedforusewiththedistributionofpressurizedliquidsonly,whicharechemicallycompatiblewiththepipingmaterials.Duetoinherenthazardsassociatedwithtestingcomponentsandsystemswithcompressedairorothercompressedgases,somemanufacturersdonotallowpneumatictestingoftheirproducts.Consultwithspecificproduct/componentmanufacturersfortheirspecifictestingprocedurespriortopneumatictesting.Note18212;Pressurized(compressed)airorothercompressedgasescontainlargeamountsofstoredenergywhichpresentserioussafetyhazardsshouldasystemfailforanyreason.Note28212;Thisstandardspecifiesdimensional,performanceandtestrequirementsforplumbingandfluidhandlingapplications,butdoesnotaddressventingofcombustiongases.1.3Thetextofthisspecificationreferencesnotes,footnotes,andappendixeswhichprovideexplanatorymaterial.Thesenotesandfootnotes(excludingthoseintablesandfigures)shallnotbeconsideredasrequirementsofthespecification.1.4Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.ThevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoSIunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.1.5Thefollowingsafetyhazardscaveatpertainsonlytothetestmethodsportion,Section8,ofthisspecification:Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.AspecificprecautionarystatementisgiveninNote7.Note38212;CPVCplasticpipe(SDR-PR),whichwasformerlyincludedinthisspecification,isnowcoveredbySpecificationF442/F442M.Note48212;Thesustainedandburstpressuretestrequirements,andthepressureratingsintheappendix,arecalculatedfromstressvaluesobtainedfromtestsmadeonpipe4in.(100mm)andsmaller.However,testsconductedonpipeaslargeas24in.(600mm)indiameterhaveshownthesestressvaluestobevalidforlargerdiameterPVCpipe.Note58212;PVCpipemadetothisspecificationisoftenbelledforuseaslinepipe.Fordetailsofthesolventcementbell,seeSpecificationD2672andfordetailsofbelledelastomericjoints,seeSpecificationsD3139andD3212.
